This is why we stopped having kids birthday parties with our family. For years and years all of our parties were ruined by our narcissistic family members all of them. My parents, in-laws, and brother and sister in-law. We just stopped and focused on our kid instead of the demands and criticisms of our extended family. They’re pissed but we don’t care.
