It’s such a difficult topic. I personally am not for the death penalty. I can’t help but notice every social media post is filled with ravenous wolves, thirsty for blood, thirsty for vengeance. And still no peace to be had, only another death to satisfy the appetite. What they did was horrific. Nothing about acknowledging her humanity diminishes the humanity of her victim or the horror of the life they took. On one hand if we end one person‘s life based on their crime, that’s justice. But if a person is terminally ill and request their life to end, we’re playing God. Still, I cannot understand how we convince ourselves that killing teaches us killing is wrong, or how we call it justice when the crowd gathers with such enthusiasm to watch another human being die.

She did a horrible thing but she has been in jail for 30 years! When she committed this unforgivable act, her brain was not fully developed. Had her execution been right away, I might have felt that although she was dealt a terrible hand in life, justice would have been served. But suffering 30 years in jail (often alone, in solitary confinement) she should be allowed some grace now.

I don't think it is a deterrent at all , this took 31 years , over 600 thousand dollars in taxpayer paid appeals and she got stayed again

Hate to admit it, but I believe in the death penalty. I would like to see it implemented more - a life for a life. If the courts imposed it more I think you would see a drastic decline in deaths of the innocent

I dont go along with setting 30 years on death row... I believe after they're convicted ...no loop holes of innocence.. then get on with the Death Penalty.. dont wait..30 years..

I don’t think that the death penalty (thought differently when I was younger) doesn’t prevent murders from happening..Revenge killing doesn’t lessen the loss of a loved one. I believe that life, literal life, in prison is a far more worse than a death date.

She made the choice to take a life out of jealousy. Then attacked another in prison. We judge her actions let God judge her soul. Such a terrible case.

I think it desensitizes the people who execute the death penalty and probably makes them a less empathetic person. I’m not a Christian anymore myself but I don’t see how anyone who is can support it. The Bible says thou shall not kill it doesn’t say except for. Even as an atheist, I believe killing someone is wrong, especially if you’re not in a situation that you’re fearing for your life so I guess I’m against it.

I think conviction accuracy needs to be WAY closer to 100% before the death penalty is even mentioned. Every other day you hear about somebody wrongfully convicted
