As I continue my college studies in Biblical Studies, I’m digging deeper into Scripture to help people build healthy relationships and marriages God’s way. 💕 Follow me @Grace & Henry Series I’ll be sharing what I learn along the way. Here’s something I found fascinating! A QUICK DISCLAIMER: I still believe in traditional courtship, dating, and treating women with love, dignity, and respect. However, I also believe that pursuit, intentionality, and effort should be mutual. Neither person should carry the entire responsibility of building a relationship. There is no single formula for how two people find love. My purpose in sharing these biblical insights is not to create arguments or debates, but to educate, encourage reflection, and help people build healthier relationships God’s way. 🙏🏾💕 My goal is to help remove the roadblocks that I believe God is revealing to me through my biblical studies, including misinterpretations of Scripture that may be preventing people from building healthy, God-centered relationships and marriages. I encourage you not to simply take my word for it, but to open your Bible, study, and seek understanding for yourself. DID YOU KNOW? 📖 In Ruth 3:9, Ruth approached Boaz and asked him to spread his garment over her. Many biblical scholars interpret this as a symbolic marriage proposal. Ruth expressed her interest. Boaz demonstrated his intentions. A godly woman can show interest without compromising her dignity. Read Ruth 3–4 for yourself. NOW, HERE’S SOMETHING ELSE TO CONSIDER! In researching for my books, I’ve interviewed several women who believe they should simply wait for a man to find them, often quoting Proverbs 18:22. But here’s something worth considering: “He who finds a wife” is NOT the same as “She who waits to be found.” Proverbs 18:22 speaks of the blessing of finding a wife, while Proverbs 31:10 emphasizes how precious and difficult to find a wife of noble character is. Neither Scripture establishes a rule that women must wait to be approached. Consider Ruth and Boaz. Boaz noticed Ruth and asked about her identity (Ruth 2:5). We later learn that he was already aware of her character, loyalty, and sacrifice (Ruth 2:11–12). Later, Ruth took the initiative, making a request that many biblical scholars interpret as a marriage proposal (Ruth 3:9). Ruth wasn’t passive, and Boaz wasn’t indifferent. Both demonstrated intentionality. I believe in courtship, but I also believe healthy relationships require mutual participation, intentionality, and effort. There is no single biblical formula for how two people must meet or find love. My purpose isn’t to create gender debates, but to encourage people to examine Scripture more deeply and consider whether some of our relationship expectations come from God’s Word or from traditions we’ve attached to it. Feel free to come back here and respectfully share your thoughts! God bless you!! 🙏🏾💕 #RelationshipAdvice #DatingAdvice #ChristianDating #ChristianTikTok #BibleStudy
