Then I told my editing agent: generate a 10-by-10 flash grid transition overlay with SHOT 2 revealed on SHOT 1. It handled the setup. I retimed the tiles by hand so they land on the beat and follow him across the frame, then asked for a thin line grid over both clips to carry the effect through the cut. Agent does the repetitive part. Timing and finish are mine. Layers, effect controls, markers. Handles like the software you already use, nothing to relearn.
