puppies are still developing depth perception. I put a treat on each step to help motivate him to go down. he figured it out.

I learned the hard way with mine when there was a fire in the building and we had to walk down 7 floors. Never realized we only went up the elevator and down the stairs. To my surprise had to carry a 80 pound rotty down the stairs

My dog would of figured it out on ther own eventually but I was bored so I just taught her how to go up stairs then taught her how to go down stairs starting with one step then two steps then just started adding more steps onto it until she figured it out 😭

Literally doing this with my 4 month old golden retriever now 😂 she will run up at the speed of wind. Soon as she is at the top and looks down, she becomes PARALYZED with fear. No amount of treats, chicken, toys, or praise will make her budge! And mama is getting REAL tired of carrying her 30 lb ass down every time lol
