it is always the relationship to whomever the form is about. so when they call the emergency contact they can confirm it’s them. i fear this is common sense.

It has no influence. When I had to have surgery I put down my best friend who was dropping me off and picking me as “mistress”. Nurses got a chuckle. If it’s something online I put myself and chose grandfather.

when i was doing it for my infant son it was like “answer as if you were the patient unless specified as you in which then you’d answer as you” felt like i was talking to the damn riddler

Like when I fill out my daughter's school registration form and I list emergency contacts. What's the relationship? Is it my sister or is it my daughter's aunt?

they’re just asking who that person is to you.. if you put your mom the relationship is mother.

It’s asking for the contacts relationship. The contacts relationship to you is mother. Your relationship to her would be son.

the relationship line next to contact is always asking “What are they to you?” so you put Mother. sometimes later in the form is will ask for a signature and have a line for “Relationship to Patient.” that is where YOU put “Self” if you’re filling it out, or if your mom was filling it out she’d put Mother.

I’m sure some forms don’t have a good description but some actually put “relationship to patient” so just think of that whenever you have to fill it out

Whoever’s name on the form, it’s the other person’s relationship to them. So if you’re filling something out for your kid, and you want to put your mom as an emergency contact, you’d put Grandparent.

lol it’s their relationship to you, so it’d be “parent” or “mother” in this scenario

whoever the patient is, it's their relationship to you. so when you're filling this out for your mom, select son for yourself.

“What if one of the 100 decisions I make in a given week about my kids will ruin them for their whole life?” This thought has been tormenting me and I’ve been giving it up to God lately. I don’t know if it’s social media that infiltrates how I see other families functioning seeming like EVERY parent is doing it perfectly besides me or if its just normal parts of parenting. Like sometimes I wonder if feeling angry in a moment and giving a harsh response without a quick follow up will haunt them, or if I’m not playing with them enough or if saying yes to a toy at the store will cause them to be greedy and ungrateful. I’m the hardest critic of myself- nobody needs to be that for me. I’m constantly replaying situations. I asked my mom this question and her response was a chuckle and “oh Lia, I still do and most of you are grown up with families now” this definitely grounded me a little to know that even whatever I carry from childhood it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where it came from. Not every decision is that heavy and we can’t be seen just be our worst days. There will be PLENTY. But what do you know to be true of what God says about you as a mom? I’m learning I need to dig more into that so that when I’n being fed lies by the enemy I can fact check them with God’s truth! The Bible reaffirms so many times about God’s unwavering grace. It’s not about getting it perfect it’s about weaving in and fostering a home with love, and affection and GRACE. Showing it and showing it again. I love how scripture says that children are a heritage and a GIFT from the Lord. Rather than our own personal measure of how we perform. What a gift in itself that is to hear and a weight to take off our shoulders. Thought I’d share some big sis things weaved into so much cooking 💛 love you!!! #bigsis #advice #parenting
