when I was 25 I was the oldest woman alive, at 30 I was 19 again, at 35 I was older, at 38 I was 21, and now at 40 I actually feel exactly that age and I feel neither old or young, I'm suspended in this place where my parents are super old and I'm not that and I have a kid in middle school and I'm not that. does that make sense?

As a bangs girly, I’ve had them my whole life. I got rid of them one year and I can’t even look at those photos. Bangs are just a life long commitment - look at Zoey Deschanel. I don’t get why people even care about her hair that much

i think taylor’s best albums are also created when she’s intentionally looking towards other artists- like 1989 was born from reviewing a lot of 80s music and media. it feels like she keeps returning to the same well of her own work & then her 5-7 emotional support pieces of media.

I think another aspect is that she’s married to this romanticized view of herself as an underdog and an outsider and a nerdy girl waiting for the right man to appreciate her and that’s so much less glamorous at 35 than it is at 20. She doesn’t know what the adult version of that is because it’s never been her actual experience, so she’s sticking to the high school version from movies and TV shows.

lol turning 36 bummed me out a little bit more then 35 because I was like “I’M ALMOST 40 NOW!” But damn I feel that whiplash. I’m sure I’ll hit 40 like a giant speed bump, and then be the youngest I felt in years until 45 😅
