@yasarahmad_: Check the link in my bio for my Boundaries Blueprint - 7 scripts to push back at work without looking difficult. If someone tries to embarrass you in front of everyone, say this and watch them regret it. Let’s say they make a little comment designed to get a laugh at your expense. Something like: “Wow… you actually prepared for once.” Don’t laugh along. And don’t fire back with something emotional. Say: “Was that meant to be helpful, or just embarrassing?” Now they have to choose. Either they admit it was a cheap shot... or they suddenly soften it. Second. If they say: “Relax, I was only joking.” Say: “Good. Explain the joke.” That one changes the temperature immediately. Because people love hiding disrespect inside humour... right up until you make them explain it. And third. If they try to embarrass you by calling out a mistake in front of everyone, say: “If there’s something useful in that, say it clearly. If not, let’s move on.” Now you’ve separated feedback from politics theatre. People who try to embarrass you in public are usually relying on one thing: That you’ll either shrink... or explode. Do neither. Make them own what they just did. Send this to yourself as a reminder and follow for more.

No, just say “very good” and move on, everyone will get the point, your advice causes quite a situation over something fairly minor

Sometimes it’s necessary to call out mistakes publicly to prevent others acting on incorrect information. Certainly in the workplace, we should encourage constructively challenging colleagues.

First, take your mind off of yourself and try to silently understand what caused this other person to say this humiliating thing to you. Sometimes the person who is humiliating you is not doing it on purpose, Researchers tell us that it is important to recognize that when someone is trying to make you feel bad about yourself, it is generally because they have a problem, not because you’ve done something so terrible.
