@thehistorynow: Before he became the voice of one of Pixar’s most beloved characters, Larry the Cable Guy was known for stand-up comedy and his famous “Git-R-Done” persona In 2006, he took on a role that introduced him to an entirely new audience when he voiced Mater, the rusty but lovable tow truck from Radiator Springs Larry’s Southern drawl and comedic timing gave Mater a personality that was funny, loyal, and full of heart Mater quickly became one of the most recognizable characters in Cars, appearing alongside Lightning McQueen and returning in Cars 2, Cars 3, and his own Mater’s Tall Tales shorts The role proved that sometimes a character’s voice can become just as memorable as the character itself
