In the 2024 *Nosferatu* film, there is a scene where a naked virgin rides a horse, leading a mob intent on destroying a vampire that is terrorizing the area; wherever she and her horse stopped, that is where the undead creature lay... I’ve heard that this is faithful to Transylvanian beliefs, but is that really how they did it?🧛🏻♂️⚰️

Eastern European vampires are more like a severe ant issue than a gothic romance 😂

The actual and the cinematic are totally different. This is quite interesting the Romanian lore behind it. I could imagine seeing “more corpse”.. could be terrifying.

But the Strigoi are ambivalent. There are living Strigoi and dead Strigoi, good and evil: sometimes Strigoi from several villages meet at crossroads where they fight, and the one who wins takes the mana from the villages of the defeated and carries it in his village, bringing with him prosperity and wealth to the village.

i had to laugh because we have such the wrong idea. i recall watching a documentary also where people suffered an illness that caused them to be pale, sensitive to light, and they were extremely iron deficient- hence needing blood. that part was left our of the lore. ❤️
