@maudsleystrong: You can spend years trying to get back to the person you were before everything changed, but what happens when you finally get there? • • • The Roads We Don’t Choose is a series for anyone who’s been knocked off course and wants to build something better from it, using lessons from real people, fictional characters, and stories that might change the way you see your own #motivation #odyssey

Christopher :

This is how I felt after a 3 year relationship ended. Tbh, maybe shouldn’t have lasted that long but we were fighting for each other. After we broke up, I circled back to old people, ideas, trips etc only to find all of it had actually shifted and it was just gone. Friends in different stages of life, girls moved on, opportunities changed, even old vacation spots like Rainey street in Austin had changed. The old wasn’t able to be replicated. It was a wake up call that nothing stays the same — not me either. I had a shock for a bit until I embraced that lesson and have tried to take advantage of everything in front of me in the present; because the present may never exist again.
