The Witch’s Night Blessing is a protection chant for the final moments before sleep. Night has always carried a particular kind of magic. The house becomes quiet, candles are extinguished, doors are locked, and the boundary between the busy world outside and the sanctuary within becomes stronger. This chant is designed to mark that boundary. Speak it before bed as a blessing over yourself, your home, the people you love and the animals who share your space. The words call upon familiar symbols of protection, the threshold, the lock, stone, flame and the night sky to create the feeling of a guarded home while everyone inside rests. You do not need an elaborate ritual. You might light a candle while speaking the chant, then safely extinguish it before sleeping. You could stand near your front door, walk quietly through each room, or speak the words from your bed with your familiar curled beside you. As you recite it, imagine the boundaries of your home becoming firm and protected. Picture every door and window sealed against anything unwelcome while warmth, love and peace remain safely within. Pay particular attention to the final words: “This house is sealed. We sleep in peace.” Say them with certainty. Then allow the ritual to end. The doors are locked. The day is finished. Those you love are held within your blessing. And for tonight, you can surrender yourself to rest. - @hexandshadowchronicles
