1965-1979. Generations are 15 years. It’s because people can’t count that generational years get thrown off you count the first year you count the last year

A fun fact, though gen x is the least generation less people were born during this time. Then, the other ones like boomers, millennials, gen z alpha it's going to be the new x💯

You forgot about self governance…we were our only source for what was right and wrong. We had to learn that on our own. Maybe that’s why so many of us are grounded the way we are. We faced our poor decisions head on…and quietly took pride in our better choices.

I was born the first week of 1983 and I feel like Gen X, I was raised by boomers born in 1948. And I was a latch key kid

Somehow, as Gen X, (76’) I do not feel invisible at all. As a matter of fact, I stay getting attacked since 2016 because I tell the truth and I don’t give a shit what people think about me. Gets me in trouble a lot of times.

I DO call it being realistic. At 6, I was allowed to cross 3 lanes of traffic by myself to go to the park. At 7, I was making pancakes for my mom and brother. At 10, I was getting myself up for school, taking the city bus across town, walking 3 or 4 blocks to my Cathomic church. At 11 or 12, I would go early to go to morning Mass cause I liked the priest and his deaf sister. At 13 I was biking across town with my 16 year old boyfriend to go to school. I took the city bus everywhere as well. I walked a mile to go buy candy at 7/11. I was babysitting at age 13, and I loved it.
We had SO MUCH responsibility at such young ages. And I am very trauma informed at this point, I know what my mom caused in me. But we are also just incredibly skilled at living, and dealing with emergencies cause we have done it our whole lives.
