@pickleballpundits: You’re putting a lot more pressure on your partner if you’re always running up to the kitchen line every time they hit a drop shot. If you trust your partners drop shots, you can start to move forward as they’re hitting. But a lot of amateur players are not always going to be hitting perfect drops like the pros. While moving forward can help set up a poach or generally apply more pressure to your opponents, if your partner pops the ball up, you become an easy target to attack. You can see Anna Leigh gauge her partners drop quality before running forward. She notices her feet are set and is hitting a more routine drop. She’s analyzing the drop continuously and would be stopping her forward progress if she sees the drop is higher than anticipated. #pickleball #pickleballstrategy #pickleballtips
if anna bright is the one doing the drop shot, yes you can do that. 🤣

Grant :
Depends. If your partner made a cross drop, you’d better to run to give the opponent the pressure. If he drop the ball straight, you should watch and wait for your partner run together.

FYI If you’re not listening to the video it may look like I’m saying ALWs tactics are wrong. I’m not, I’m highlighting differences between professional and amateur players and how running too quickly towards the kitchen line when your partner’s drops are not great will create even more pressure for your partner.
