@giftsondanielevangelist: A Hero in the Cockpit. ✈️ On September 30, flydubai Flight FZ1073 was en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv when a violent incident unfolded in the cockpit. According to reports from Israeli officials, the co-pilot - identified as an Omani national - allegedly attacked and stabbed Captain Smit Machchhar and attempted to take control of the aircraft. Reports also said the attacker shouted a religious slogan during the incident. The circumstances and motive remain under investigation. Despite being seriously injured, Captain Machchhar fought back from his seat, while passengers and crew intervened. The aircraft was diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely with more than 170 passengers on board. Both pilots were taken for medical treatment, and the co-pilot was taken into Saudi custody. Captain Machchhar, an experienced Boeing 737 pilot, reportedly spent 11 years with SpiceJet before joining flydubai as a captain in 2022. Reports have put his Boeing 737 experience at approximately 9,750 flight hours. The investigation will determine exactly what happened and the motive behind the attack. But Captain Machchhar’s courage during an extraordinary emergency deserves recognition. Wishing Captain Smit Machchhar a complete and speedy recovery. 🙏✈️ #Flydubai #FZ1073 #SmitMachchhar #Aviation #Pilot
