@georgialouiseharrison: Misogyny isn’t just something women experience online it’s shaping how a generation of young men and boys see women in the real world. Look at the Cornwall University case - 7 men raped an unconscious woman - 50 more were watching the chat brag about it as it happened AND DID NOTHING. This is a global epidemic… That’s why I wanted to use my speech at Labour Party Conference to talk about the rise of online misogyny, the manosphere and the content being pushed towards young people every single day. Because if we’re serious about tackling violence against women and girls, we have to be serious about where some of these attitudes are being learned in the first place. For me, this is a huge part of what my new campaign is about — making the online world safer for women and children, but also challenging the culture that allows misogyny to grow and spread. I’ll be sharing more of my speech tomorrow, as well as my conversation with Lisa Nandy about the campaign, what we’re trying to achieve and why I believe this needs urgent attention.
