@jploftofficial: Most people think if a vibe-coded app works, it’s ready to launch. But there’s a huge difference between getting a prototype to work in a controlled environment and having software that can handle real users, real data, payments, failures, and growth. AI can help you build incredibly fast, which makes it great for getting an idea off the ground. The problems usually appear when that early code has to become a product people actually depend on. That’s why getting the app working is only the beginning. Making it secure, scalable, maintainable, and production-ready is where experienced engineering matters. Follow JPLoft for more practical app development tips before you build your first app. #appdevelopment #vibecoding #softwaredevelopment #mobileapp #startup

Voxel Dynasties RTS Game :
I’m honestly glad I learned programming before the AI era. These days I use AI constantly, but with a very structured workflow: requirements first, then I design the data model, architecture, business logic and patterns...
And one thing people massively underestimate: testing. AI is incredible at writing tests. That annoying part you used to skip sometimes? Now I’d rather have ten tests too many than one too few.
That combination makes AI insanely powerful in software development. But it’s still the same question: is the chisel in the hands of an amateur or a master?

You have to have the base level knowledge of software engineering to make ai effective. If you vibe code everything without knowing what you’re doing of course it’s gonna be shit. If you know what you’re doing AI is an amazing learning tool.

Also great for spiking concepts and tradeoffs, but all the info has to be double checked.

This is why having a valid degree or background in CS is important, basic things such as DB normalization, load balancing and scalability aren’t a coding agent’s first priority

I am taking the approach that anything I Vive code is going to start off from a completely architected skeleton with a health check endpoint. that way all of the patterns are in place for front end, backend, security, rolls and permissions, etc and the language model only needs to copy/paste adjust
