Auntie? Sister? Master? Pick the Wrong Chinese Title and Watch the Awkward Moment 😬 #china She looks 30, so you call her 阿姨 — and she laughs. He fixes your sink, but 师傅 feels too formal. Chinese titles aren't just words — they read age, job, and mood in one breath. One wrong 叫 and the whole moment gets awkward. In this short lesson, you'll learn 6 simple Chinese words that help you address people politely, naturally, and confidently — without sounding like a textbook. 📚 [Core Lesson]: 1. 阿姨 (ā yí) "Auntie" 2. 姐姐 (jiě jie) "Older Sister" 3. 师傅 (shī fù) "Master / Skilled Worker" 4. 叫 (jiào) "To Call / To Be Called" 5. 对 (duì) "Correct" 6. 错 (cuò) "Wrong" 🔊 [Pronunciation Tip]: The word 姐姐 (jiě jie) is fun — say "jyeh" with a falling-rising tone, then "jyeh" with a light, neutral tone, like you're calling a close friend. 💡 [Cultural Nugget]: In Chinese, titles aren't one-size-fits-all. Young women close to your age are often called 姐姐, older women 阿姨, and drivers or repair pros 师傅. Get it wrong and it's a little awkward — but most people are very understanding. 💬 [Call to Action]: A woman who looks close to your age hands you coffee. Do you call her 阿姨 or 姐姐? Tell me your answer in one of these Chinese words! #learnchinese #mandarin #eechinese #HSK #HSK4 #chinesevocab #china #usa #india 📘 Want the complete HSK 4 vocabulary system?
