The only way this reboot will work is if they pull a double twist. Have Pamela like, genuinely distraught over Jason’s death, borderline psychotic. Then she’ll start seeing Jason as we know him killing off the counselors and she’s trying to get “clues” as to what actually happened to him. Reveal that she’s actually been killing the counselors and her fractured mind has coped with the fact by imagining some hulking monster (the opposite of her gentle boy) enacting revenge. Only have the rug pulled out in the end by showing us that Jason does indeed exist, but has been killing from his perspective of his mother being in danger or trouble (he views the counselors as evil/dangerous). Have Pamela die in the traditional sense by someone who finds out she’s responsible, and then you can continue on with the mainline films of Jason.

this plot could work cause movie history fans know the first Friday movie was Pamela as the killer not Jason. Jason only appears in pt 2 when he's finally an adult.

I think it works but the idea of a heartbroken mother wanting revenge for her son works good she was sneaky and got away with it till she couldn’t the real tragedy in this is both Jason and his mom missed one another and that night she died Jason was near buy watching as they say I’m the legend and the reboot flashback adds salt to the wound so close to beeing hole now you got a vengeful son who wants to be alone
