honestly, one thing that strikes me with this, is the fact that maybe this spell wasn't originally invented to erase memories, in fact, it almost seems to me that it's inverse was what came first, something someone made to help them remember things, hell maybe it was originally medical, used to treat dementia, but at some point it was inverted and discovered it could erase memories then with magic on the body becoming illegal, and so much more time passing since then the original point of the spell, was forgotten and the spell became known for its inverted State rather than base state.

when you talked about the mind erasing spell and the difficulty and amount of ink it would take to make it makes me wonder if spell stamps could exist. then you wouldn't even have to draw the spell at all.

Oh, Maddie, you gave me the chance to yap about my theory regarding Olruggio's near future. I do think that Olly doesn't remember the circumstances, but emotional memory can't be erased as easily, so Olly constantly feels the need to help Qifrey and he keeps figuring out the secret. And that the Brimmed Caps will get their hands on Olly and will perform forbidden magic on him to restore all the memories. Olly would be forced to leave the Atelier and lay low so nobody can find out what was done to him, and won't come back until he finds the cure for Qifrey. ANGST!

does it HAVE to be metal tipped calligraphy pen? bc we know that it doesn't have to be paper, and the ink can be mixed to make it have different properties, maybe we can use a brush to fill out the space? like yeah you have to be 10x more exact with drawing the outline of the lines, but you wont have to scribble in the fills lol

(I haven't read the manga but) this seems like a big "coco figures out qifrey has been doing this and , and this point ngaf about rules, starts fixing people" type thing. cause if I know anything from the anime (and the minor spoilers) it's that if anyone is going to break rules, invent magic, and save people it's her (probably loads of other people but)
