King Slayer :
Years after graduating high school, I finally got my own apartment. I finally got away from my family, had my own space, and could have my friends over for as long as I wanted. The first few weeks were great. Then the honeymoon phase wore off. One day I came home from work, sat at my kitchen table while making myself something to eat, and thought, “Wow… this is everything I wanted. So why am I still sad? Why do I still feel alone?” That’s when it hit me. As toxic as my family could be, they were also the people who kept me from feeling completely alone. A couple months later, I went back home, and my mother welcomed me with open arms. Eventually, some of the toxicity came back too, but by then I understood something I hadn’t before. Being completely alone with your own thoughts for days on end can hurt in a completely different way. The lesson I took from it was this: sometimes life doesn’t give you a perfect option. Sometimes you have to choose the situation you understand, can set boundaries around, and have some control over while you work toward something better. If this resonated with anyone, may our Father God bless you with everything that is good this world has to offer. God bless and God speed. 🙏
