Hit the nail on the head. It’s the spirit of pride and judgement why folks want work based salvation. But God knew how foolish people can be so He specifically told us it is not through works so none can boast!

The crazy part about all interpretation, is salvation is the difference between them. Isn't that interesting. you have the most confusing part about scripture would be what actually saves you. and people don't see that that is the enemy at work. I don't know. because that is the one place he is going to attack. He doesn't care about anything else because you will misinterpret. What actually brings you home. and he is, right, it's a pride thing. People like to say they're a better Christian than someone else. Or, they're doing more for the lord than someone else is. because the one thing I hear self righteous, preachers and people speaking on scripture is you don't do this, but I do that. if a free gift can we taken away from you Then, it was never a gift in the first place.

That’s exactly the point,, if works are merely “evidence” with no connection to salvation, why does Scripture repeatedly make them relevant to salvation and judgment? James 2:14 asks, “Can faith save him?” and says faith without works is dead. Jesus says we are known by our fruits (Matthew 7:16–23), and Matthew 25:31–46 speaks of judgment based on what people did. So if works distinguish the saved from the unsaved, how can you say they have nothing to do with salvation?

a topic most ppl don't ever touch on, I'd love to see you dive into the Scripture about it... when John baptized Jesus. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all together on earth. and the Father says something interesting, this is my Son, who I am well pleased. I argue that this is more important than ppl realize at first glance. why is He so proud of Jesus? He hasn't done anything yet. no miracles, no healings, casted out no demons, not even really preached or anything of note. yet, God is claiming Him as His own and announcing to the world that He is pleased with Him... and I argue that is possibly the greatest proof of eternal security and the fact that our works have nothing to do with salvation. and God Himself announced it to the ppl with His own voice and sent the Holy Spirit to dwell with Him... and all of it was free. I know this was prophesy being fulfilled but I also believe it was a foreshadowing of what is to come. the Father sends the Holy Spirit to dwell with us, and He accepts us as His own, simply because of what Jesus did... would you do a Bible study on this topic and connect some scriptures the way you do? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this...

For years I have been trying to become a Christian. I’ve read and studied the bible, prayed, listened to sermons. But ultimately I just cannot genuinely believe it is true. I’ve tried so hard and I can say the words “I believe” but Im not being honest with myself and I’m just genuinely not convinced. Question for Christians: what am I supposed to do? Am I going to hell because I can’t convince myself Christianity is true?
