Yesterday it was all about the bunnies, but today, let’s talk about chicken zoomies! 🐓🤍 These mini dinosaurs can be incredibly funny and cute! I love how they always follow me around the garden… like always!!! When I run, they run… 😉 Quick update on Abby’s health: we’re still treating her with antibiotics since her test results came back negative. She seems to be doing better compared to the weekend, but she’s still resting and sitting a lot. On a positive note, she’s laying normal eggs again and continues to eat well. I’m considering the idea of putting her in a quarantine cage, but at the same time, I sense she wants to be with the others. I’ll observe her behavior over the next few days before making a decision. I really hope she pulls through and has the chance for a long life here. It’s my deepest wish for her! 🤍 Also, I’m hoping she’ll finally stop laying eggs. Abby’s eggs are huge, and she lays them like a machine - every single day!! Always at the same time in the morning and within 20-30 minutes. I don’t know her exact age when she arrived, but I believe she was around 1-2 years old, which means she’d be 3-4 years old now. With chicken breeds, it’s usually the less eggs they lay, the older they get. Hybrid hens like Drizella usually only live between 1-3 years because their breed was created to lay more eggs than they naturally would. Unfortunately, this often comes with various diseases, issues, and discomfort.
