They are very endangered, it takes a lot of energy to get to the alps where they escape the summer heat and procreate so a lot die on the way there. And in the alps these moths feed a tiny endangered possum so not a lot make it, having their annual migration come back means we actually have a really healthy ecosystem:) (if it makes anyone feel better I’m TERRIFIED of moths and spiders I just love the environment so I’m at a big stand still here😭) I’ve been keeping my blinds down, my outside lights off, my clothes inside, and making sure doors and windows are closed PROPERLY
