@forestblakk: If You Love Her turns 6 today. If I’m being honest with you… I had no idea this song was gonna change my life. All I know is I went into the studio one day with my friend Steve Solomon to work out, or better yet, write out how I was feeling. I could never in my wildest dreams have imagined that this one song would be listened to over 900 million times. I was always happy when one person was listening, let alone that many. I can still remember the day it came out. I was sitting there constantly refreshing Spotify, in disbelief that there were 100 people listening at the same time. It was mind blowing. Or the fact that 10,000 people had listened to my song in just 24 hours. That just didn’t happen. At least, it never did for me. Fast forward to today, and there are usually around 2,000 to 3,000 people listening at any given moment. And over a quarter million of you every day choose to tune in and press play on If You Love Her. It’s been six years, and I’m not sure I’m any closer to understanding any of it. All I know is that I’m so incredibly grateful that anyone out there found something in the words and feelings I had that day and chose to make the song theirs. I think one of the greatest things I’ve come to realize over these six years is that it was never really about me. I mean, it was about me the day I wrote it. But the minute it went out into the world, it became about you. And I think that’s pretty beautiful. So, if you’re one of the millions of people out there who’ve listened to If You Love Her, thank you. Truly. Here’s to the next six years!!!
