I was just thinking this especially with what Bonnie Blue is doing- it’s setting women back and the only fans community as well. Men think of women as objects. Not humans.

yes!!!! & it’s so annoying that if you point this out ppl are like “omg purity culture” as a cop out to engage with it critically. media desensitizes and shapes attitudes so why is it hard to believe that this particular content that people are genuinely addicted to isn’t having REAL LIFE ramifications and impacts. the ease of accessibility is making it worse

I agree with everything you said. It’s so true that the corn industry is definitely setting women back.

agreed everytime i see the “tiktok bops” promoting sex work to a young demographic i have to remind myself to be angry at the system that produced this archetype. we should turn our anger to those in power who can do something and the polls

You’re the first video to say this and I’m so grateful. There aren’t enough studies about the intersection between porn addiction and SA/coercsion/sexual violence

I agree with you. I'm VERY liberal in my views, but I'm concerned about the way pornography and sex work are discussed without regard to the context in which those industries exist.

You’re so right in all of this and I realized the other day that I don’t think I could ever trust a man that was/ is in a fraternity.

yes i agree to an extent, but i do think this conversation is not valuable to the cornell 7 event as a lot of what u discussed is subtly placing blame back onto women. women are not setting women back. men are. women do not hav the power to set women back. women choosing to engage in cnc is not setting women back or normalising rpe. discussing the progression of kinks within media nd it becoming a hegemonic norm isnt relevant to the cornell 7 event. it is an important discussion but it is not analogous w this tragedy.

You have A very well developed vocabulary and make it easy to visualise complex subjects with nuance and actual understanding of the topic itself, it sounds very well thought out and I could listen to you talk for ages. Congrats on giving such a great take on the situation

My younger brothers are in fraternities. My mom & I have strongly & strictly discussed with both of them the meaning of consent, to never be intimate while intoxicated or someone who is as well, & to check the other guys around them. But I’d be lying if I said I don’t worry about if either of them have let other things slip past them, because it’s “not that big of a deal” or “not their problem”.

It’s so upsetting that either of these takes might be called “controversial”🤦♀️You are absolutely correct and I’ve made the first point to so many women. People with certain “kinks” really just need to go to therapy and stop acting like what they do is empowering rather than degrading. I also urge women to ask why these man get off to the idea of you being harmed and why they’re ok with that. As someone who has worked through a lot to gain this perspective I also think that women are conditioned from the start to also believe they would desire this type of behavior. So that when they finally engage in it, it feels like their “choice”. Also the p*rn industry will never be empowering when we are able to put a literal price on our bodies. This just immediately dumbs us down to a literal object to be bought by men. Not to mention the horrific violence that exists within this industry and that it promotes to normalize this behavior.

Thank you for saying it out loud. I made a YouTube video yesterday about the same exact topic and the fact that boys now are being exposed to this online at younger ages than ever before. I’m afraid this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Your take on the porn industry is 100% facts. If we can’t make it go away entirely, we NEED TO PROTECT YOUNG CHILDREN FROM EARLY EXPOSURE. People need to watch what their children are looking at on the internet 😭😭😭😭
