@adytum_official: Utah researchers put a microscope half the size of a fingernail on a mouse's brain. When a dark disk swelled on a screen overhead like a diving hawk, the mouse froze and a group of microglia, the brain's own immune cells, lit up together. In mice with a disrupted version of these cells, a calcium signal inside them stays high, and those mice have chronic anxiety. It's early: three mice in the disk test, ten cells shown, no people studied. Save this, tell me if your anxiety feels body first, and send it to someone whose anxiety shows up for no reason. Not a doctor, and this isn't medical advice. Sources: Nagarajan N, Capecchi MR. Mol Psychiatry. 2026;31(9):4895-4917. PMID 41974885 Van Deren DA, et al. Mol Psychiatry. 2026;31(2):915-928. Julia :
So if hEDS is a neuroimmune disorder, maybe this is a reason why anxiety is so highly comorbid with it?
