is it just me or am I suspecting he is trying to play but because he was a feral he doesn't know how to play gently? this just doesn't seem like actual violent behavior. absolute menace but not actually aggressive.

definitely seems like the same behavior when my cat wasn’t neutered yet and tried to “mate” me. I learned that hissing at him worked to stop him, so try that! Seems silly but it can’t hurt

cats act weird when they have big emotions sometimes. he might be wanting to play and doesn't really know what to do with the energy, maybe buy a toy and redirect to more appropriate play next time? because truly if he wanted to mess you up you'd be hella bloody

I have run this past one of my peers who is a cat expert. This is absolutely aggression, not play. He is possibly resource guarding that sleeping spot.

He's trying to mount you for sin biscuits, my FIXED boy cat does this. And before anyone tries to say it was a prior behavior, I've had him since he was about 3-4 wks old and he was neutered as soon as he hit 6 months of age and it wasn't something he had ever done before.

So far I’ve learned he’s either trying to mate, he’s overstimulated from the noise, he might be old, he might have a disease, most cats do this for no reason, he’s trying to get cuddles, he actually wanted to 💀 her, he just wanted to play. 🤷♀️

His tail seems to be in a place of play/curiosity/interest, my first thought is he wanted your attention and you were doing something else or, as someone else said, he’s trying to play and doesn’t know how LOL. Either way his behaviour after says he still likes you

as a person who ran a cat rescue for a very long time he is overstimulated by your movements.. this is actually quite common with strays... big feelings he has never had before... best is just to get off the bed and move away from him. give him time to chillout. toss some treats on the floor. you scolding him only makes it worse
