In the cattle camps of South Sudan, under the wide golden sky, a Mundari elder once held a visitor’s arm in his hands. He didn’t do it out of suspicion. He did it out of curiosity. He gently turned the arm, studying the skin — lighter, brownish under the sun, covered with hair so different from his own. His fingers traced it slowly, his eyes filled with wonder. He laughed softly, calling others to come see. Not to judge. Not to mock. But to understand. In that moment, there were no barriers. Just two humans meeting for the first time. The Mundari are proud cattle keepers, deeply rooted in tradition. Many still live close to ancestral ways of life, where encounters with foreigners are rare and fascinating. And when they meet someone different, their first instinct is often curiosity — pure, honest curiosity. At Tiang Safaris, these are the moments we treasure. Not staged. Not rushed. Not filtered. Real connections. Shared laughter. Questions without fear. Discovery on both sides. Travel, when done with respect, becomes something powerful. It reminds us that no matter how different we look, we are all simply people trying to understand each other. Come witness South Sudan beyond the headlines. Come experience humanity at its rawest and most beautiful. #TiangSafaris #Mundari #SouthSudan #CulturalExchange #TravelWithPurpose
