@mbforrgis: 92 million years ago, North America was split in two. And it still shapes our country today. Full video on this topic from @pbsterra link in my bio page. #geography #maps #History #dinosaurs

Ancient shorelines having a direct connection to slave populations and today’s election demographics is incredible. That is such an interesting connection

I'm from El Paso, TX and when I was young in the early early 90s I was digging in my grandma's backyard and found seashells. I still have some from her yard

One detail you got wrong:
You mentioned that Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops lived in Laramidia 92 million years ago. This is very incorrect. We know this because we have discovered fossils of T. Rex and Triceratops in rock layers dating back 68-66 million years ago in Montana, North and South Dakota as well as Wyoming, which we can see is UNDERWATER. While it's true that the North American continent was divided 92 million years ago, T. Rex and Triceratops didn't appear until nearly 30 MILLION years later, which by that point, the ocean in between the two landmasses would have disappeared.

Ok, as a non American I am confused over the pronunciation of Appalachia. Is there a correct way to say it with a CH or a SH sound? Or is it just regional differences? I feel like I used to hear SH more and now hear CH used more often.

Speak it as how the people who are native to the area say it (I’m one of those people) it’s “Apple- at- cha” Appalachia. So crazy how all these years later others still mispronounce our area. 🤦♀️
