@thesundaily: 01 Oct 2026: Passengers can be heard shouting in fear as the Flydubai aircraft rapidly lost thousands of metres in altitude. The sudden descent sent shockwaves through the cabin, with passengers left confused and terrified as the crew worked to regain control. Captain Smit Machchhar was stabbed in the cockpit during Flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, but still helped open the cockpit door and fight back as passengers and crew intervened. The aircraft plunged thousands of feet before control was regained and it was diverted safely to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
