55 and I’d had enough, as long I’ve got a roof over me head and food on the table, that’s enough. 👍

55 I was fed up of work but also coincided with being diagnosed with Bone cancer and having 4 operations ( actually 8 now ) so enough was enough I volunteer for 4 charities to keep busy. Now 65 and just celebrated 10 years cancer free

I retired at 55 with a pension pot that will run out on my mid 70s if I live that long , but there’s no cash point in your coffin so live your life while you can

If we run out of money we can get more. You cannot do that with time! This is priceless

I’m guessing you have no mortgage and an Air force pension would be at least £1000-£1500 a month, then your wife pension aswell, your possibly getting more than some people earn! At least disclose this bit👍

When you said you can always make more money but you can’t make more time, really made me think.

Same. I retired this year at 56. The last few years of work were a struggle, I hated it. Left a high paying job job that the government were screwing out as much tax as possible from my earnings. Been 4 months now, and I’m loving it so far

It is possible to live on a limited income that's just below minimum wage levels, but only if you've paid off your mortgage and don't have rent to pay.
