A lot of this comes from attachment. Before you met this person, you were sleeping fine, eating fine, living your life and doing all the things you now feel like you can’t do. Then, once your perception of that person changes or you lose them, all of those things suddenly feel impossible. What’s sad is that it isn’t just women who do this men do it too. We can become so attached to someone that we stop seeing them as a person, with their own heart, feelings and soul, and instead start seeing them through what they mean to us or what we need from them. Learn to love yourself properly before you try to love another person. Experience is everything. And if you can put aside that deep down fear of being alone, you start to understand that love doesn’t always have to mean attachment. You can love someone from a distance. You can still care about them, wish them well and hold love for them without needing to be with them. Sometimes learning to let go doesn’t mean you stop loving someone. It means you learn how to love without needing to possess or depend on them
