I hate the whole “it’s not all men but it’s always a man” because I got SAed by a woman and it’s just like it it’s ALWAYS a man then what about female perpetrators?

do i think its the most helpful thing to say its all men? nah. but im not mad at women or anyone else for saying it. sure it can be used in these intersectional ways to demean men that belong to other societally oppressed groups and thats important to mention. but i think its more about a general frustrated reaction to the patriarchy and constantly feeling like the “othered” gender in a dehumanizing (and often sexual) way, and thats a fair reaction imo. even “good” men just wont be able to understand what its like on a basic experiential level. also wanna note to other ppl,,,pls dont say its a biological phenomenon that men r rape machines. its more nurture over nature in a society ™️IMOOOOOOOOOO

it doesn't bother me bc I don't believe it applies to me but I understand the sentiment. men shouldn't really try and fight it

only 1 out of the 57 men that were in the gc did anything, even when men don’t participate in the harmful behaviour they still allow it to happen

lowkey it makes sense though, in statistics, even men are usually hurt by men. it’s pattern at this point

I think not all men, but always a man is a fair statement vs "all men". bc it highlights the absurd disproportionate rate while still not implying that literally every man is in the wrong just by existing.

It isn’t always a man tho. So that’s also stupid. I think it’s ludicrous and hateful. I think woman are allowed to say “we have to be careful around all men”, and i 100% agree, because there’s no way to know who is a good man and who isn’t. But saying “All men” when talking about a rapist, abuser or so on, it’s just hateful and wrong. And it’s especially harmful to young boys on tiktok who just see millions of woman call them monsters and so on, just because they got born a male

When men talk about the "its not all men" I feel like they just mean: "I'm a good guy and it bothers me that you're not singling me out when u talk about mens violence MORE THAN it bothers me that women are experienceing said violence.."
Sure woman could word themselves better, but why is that the only disscussion men want to have??

"always a man" means that not all men hurt women but when a woman is hurt, it's by a man. i think a lot of it is a problem because of generalization. statistically, not every man has done something wrong to a woman, but when a woman is sa'd her aggressor is usually a man. its kind of like when a person is stung by a bee, they now have a fear of bee's even if not every bee is out to get them.

I agree with this ideology: "Out of ten men, one man makes a joke at a woman's expense. 2 laugh at it, 3 give a weak chuckle, 3 do nothing, and 1 man actively apprehends the jokester. At the end of the day, 9 men believe they are good people." This effectively means you can't be a bystander and a good person. I also think it's a lot easier to see hate against men online, like it is with everything. Your fyp is going to show you what content you interact with, and if you interact with posts about men even if it's to hate, you'll get more posts and hate more.

I’ve found it’s how people choose to understand the use of the word “all” in the sentence.

i know it’s an anecdotal reason, but i think a lot of it stems from codependency, i was a in a group, one of the people started doing pedophile shit, i called it out and got exiled from the group because the others werent capable of letting this person go. there were other factors at play, i wasnt in school with the offender like they were and didnt have to interact with them on a day go day basis. but they told me weeks prior that what they agree what he was doing was weird. BUT when the time came to hold him to it, they crumbled under the pressure of actually having to hold him accountable and letting go. THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR THESE PEOPLE and this is not me trying to make one. they are complacent in the actions of monsters, but that is where i feel a lot of the “staying silent” culture comes from. all in all, as a man, its men’s fault that things like this happen. end of story.

I think I don't like to think too much about it because it seems more like an emotional and understandable response and not the actual world view of the person saying it
