Christel Reports 📰🌻💅 :
Buffalo is Western New York 😂 We’re literally in the WNY region. People from NYC tend to call everything north of the city “upstate,” but regionally Buffalo is Western NY.

as a buffalo, this is what we call upstate. that's why we get annoyed when you call us upstate bc it aint even close. I never heard anyone call Buffalo upstate until I had a long island roommate in college

Erin Hare :
The entire state that is above New York City is NOT “upstate”. It’s like saying anything north of Miami is “upstate Florida”.

I lived in Cali, traveled the US. If you do not tell people you're from "Upstate", they assume youre from the city.

The peace bridge runs east/west. And NYC doesn’t dictate anything about western New York. Call us what we tell you to call us, you ain’t got a say in the matter
