I have ptsd but at this point it doesn’t impair my life all that much. I’m mostly able to lead a normal and prosperous life, even the stuff that should be harder for me i can do🥰

i absolutely agree with this, i had an ED for 6 years but it was never super severe. i never needed hospitalization and recovery was fairly easy because my desire to be beautiful was stronger than my desire to stay sick. love your videos btw you always have the best takes 💞

Yeah it’s like made the mental health space weird asf. It’s the “all are valid” mindset but like you’re valid but not equal

I wasn't even the most ill person ever, but when I was at my worst, I literally had people telling me "you think you're special and worse than everyone else" when I said their advice was not going to heal me (because it was all stuff I had already tried or actively did. the number of people who told me getting a hobby and not bedrotting would fix my depression was wild. I've always had hobbies and had a full time job at one of my lowest points and SH'd and was violently suicidal)
and at the end of the day, their advice was not what helped me. but they felt a need to be in competition with me and got mad when I was worse off than them.

thank you for this. this is why i just can't take this new approach i'm seeing of people thinking you can 'bully' ALL anorexics out of their illness :/ like even if it worked for you, it could easily make someone else 10x worse.

I’m feeling this right now. Am I really struggling with my mental health? Yeah and it sucks. But I know I’m not as bad as it could be and I am grateful for that.

I agree. I have anxiety and have suffered with depression. I’ve been able to get both to a manageable point without meds and with minimal therapy. Some people don’t survive this exact thing. It would be extremely naive of me to think that how I feel is the exact same as everyone else with this feels!

It’s like the elevator analogy, we might all be on the same elevator but some people are able to get off on different floors while others stay on all the way to the bottom.

Yes, thank you. this is how i feel about the people who say this stupid fcking ableist tweet “helps them.” Like, congratulations, you cured your laziness or lack of motivation but it’s still damaging to the people who actually suffer from this disability.

Im bipolar 2. ive SUFFERED. Ive been through the trenches of suicidal ideation and putting myself in debt and ruining relationships.... I still think Im in a better spot and recognize the privileges i DO have. Im being paid by the VA for my disability, the only drug ive taken is marijuana. I have access to my mood stabilizers that WORK. I actually feel for the people who are going thro7gh bipolar mania and bipolar 2 who are either struggling to get diagnosed or are also in the midst of their trenches.
