To everyone who has a voice that can be heard, and to everyone who has the ability to do something for women in Iraq and help bring about change: please, help my voice reach women’s rights organizations.
Imagine being born into a life that feels like a prison. Imagine being taught that your entire existence must revolve around a husband and a child — that your worth is measured by how well you please them, how quietly you endure what is unbearable, and how much of yourself you are willing to sacrifice.
And then, even the child you devoted your life to can be taken away from you.
In my country, women have been given only a very narrow space to live as human beings. We are expected to be mothers, wives, and caregivers before we are allowed to be individuals with our own dreams, choices, voices, and private lives.
And now, even motherhood itself can be taken away from us.
How much more must women lose before the world listens to us?
Please, hear our voices. Please, help us be seen. And please, do not let Iraqi women continue to disappear behind laws, traditions, and systems that were never built to protect them.No_To_JaafariLaw #No_To_The_JaafariLaw #No_To_SectarianLaws #Protect_Womens_Rights #Protect_Childrens_Rights #No_To_ChildMarriage #No_To_ChildMarriageInIraq #No_To_HonorKillings #No_To_Separating_Mothers_From_Their_Children #Keep_Mothers_With_Their_Children #Womens_Rights_Are_Human_Rights #Justice_For_Iraqi_Women #Protect_Iraqi_Women #No_To_GenderDiscrimination #My_Body_My_Rights #Equality_For_Women #Save_Iraqi_Girls #Let_Women_Live_With_Dignity #Stand_With_Iraqi_Women #No_To_Laws_That_Harm_Women
