Basically she's saying if you want to do something.. go do it! That looks different for everyone (go alone, go with family or friends, go as a first date) just don't put your life on hold because you're waiting for the perfect person or opportunity that will never come close to what you've imagined because you're too busy romanticizing an idea instead of living your life.

guys she's not saying you can't or shouldn't want to have a partner. she's saying you can have a fulfilling life in the meantime, before you find one. as someone who never wants to find one, I completely understand the frustration. I never see my friends without their partner within arms reach. it feels like they never want to do anything without them. it's one thing to go do things and be like, I hope gets to share this with me someday, but to not go at all and then complain you don't have anyone to go with makes me actually want to vomit. even worse if you go with a friend and spend the whole time complaining about how you wish you had a boyfriend to do this stuff with you. pisses me off to the point where stuff like this is mild talk.

As someone who is happily married- I think a lot of people forget you can do stuff by yourself without making it a date. Get coffee at a local cafe. Have a nice dinner. Go to a park. Go to the mall. See a movie- you don’t have to have a partner for permission to do any of that.

I need to do ACTUAL shit by myself. I just leave home early sometimes and sit in a park and read but I need to start eating and going out with myself again. My friends and bf can’t always be available and not everything I want to do is their vibe. This is great advice, yall need to love yourselves and pour into YOU.

I don’t disagree, but my mom and all my grandparents are dead. My brother is besties with an abuser and my sister is racist. A lot of people seek a partner because they don’t have stable, consistent, caring companionship. It’s nice to have someone that consistently shows up for you and looks out for you.
