I’ve honestly just stopped listening to people. I only ship queer ships. I don’t like straight ships, it makes me uncomfortable. After a point, I just realized I don’t actually have to explain why it makes me uncomfortable. I am queer, so I’m going to prefer queer things. There is literally no issue. Also, so many people now don’t understand how fandom works. “Oh but they have a canon relationship” ok, we’ve been shipping characters in canon relationships since the beginning of fandom. That hasn’t been a huge issue until recently. “Oh but they haven’t met/have no chemistry” so we actually have ships and aus with fandom crossovers. Characters from the same media not having met doesn’t mean anything. Also, not all ships come from characters having chemistry, for a lot of people it’s about exploring different dynamics and possible situations to put these characters through together
