@theenglishlifeacademy: Pop in, pop up, pop out or pop over? 🤔 These little phrasal verbs can be confusing because they’re all so similar... but they’re used in slightly different situations: 👀 to pop up = to appear suddenly or unexpectedly (e.g. A notification popped up on my phone) 🚶🏼‍♂️‍➡️ to pop in = to visit somewhere quickly or unexpectedly (e.g. I popped into a shop to grab something) 🏃🏼‍♂️ to pop out = to leave somewhere quickly → usually to go somewhere and come back (e.g. I’m just popping out to get some eggs) 🏠 to pop over = to visit someone nearby for a short / informal visit (e.g. I popped over to my sister’s for a chat) What should I tackle next? Another phrasal verb, a tricky preposition or a word you always get confused by?
