@highlifediscog: In Akan, it’s a simple word. But in this song, “Adwuma” carries the weight of everyday life; work, bills, survival, and trying to make ends meet until the next payday. Santrofi’s “Adwuma” speaks to the person who works all month and still has little left to put away. It also speaks to the temptation to envy another person’s progress and wonder why their life seems to be moving faster than yours. Sometimes, the most difficult kind of progress is simply staying at it when there’s nothing yet to show for it.
