I was initially outraged when I saw this blowing up on social media too, but once you actually look into the facts instead of headlines, there just isn't a legal case here, and a lot of the people calling this a cover-up or conspiracy are misinformed about how New York state law actually works. When you break down the penal code against her own statement, 1st Degree SA is out because it requires physical force or physical helplessness (meaning unconscious or physically unable to communicate) and she was conscious and communicating the whole time; 2nd Degree SA is out because mental incapacitation legally means substances were administered without your consent, whereas she admits in her statement she voluntarily took them herself; and 3rd Degree SA hinges on a lack of consent, yet by her own account she consented repeatedly, and the second she revoked consent, the physical action stopped. This situation is a huge example of how the sex positivity crowd is failing its own stress test, because while we can all agree this was a deeply yucky, disturbing situation—and deep down we know two consenting adults can participate in something that is still completely wrong—being ethically gross or having terrible judgment doesn't equal a felony, and outrage doesn't rewrite the penal code.

With all respect and I mean no offense to you, have you read the case? I obviously believe rape to be a severe charge and a heinous crime that should be taken seriously but the evidence is overwhelmingly against her. Not enough sufficient evidence to make that claim with absolute certainty the boys are guilty. The victim originally reported the to the DA she voluntarily consensually engaged in intercourse with 2 boys whilst doing drugs and two years later said 7 boys were involved. She likely felt guilty and ashamed for her behavior and wanted to save her campus reputation and placed the blame on the boys to save her image and story.The Snapchat message is not sufficient evidence beyond reasonable doubt to convict these men of rape. DA was hesitant to pick up this case due to the discrepancy between her original story and the recent one. Please read cases and process the information to the best of your ability. And yes the snap message “ free pss” is completely disturbing but this alone is not sufficient beyond reasonable doubt. The case is being publicized nationally and all the men alleged in the crime are being subject to ridicule, ruthlessly attacked and demonized ( having their names and pictures revealed etc) . Death threats and so on without the case having been processed. Best to allow the case to go through instead of making hasty conclusions with insufficient evidence. I have never laid my hands on woman or been openly tolled I was an issue ( most of them time I’ve been called gentlemanly), just because I so happen to have a different interpretation in a legal case does not mean I don’t support the welfare of women. I would argue that this case is going to harm women the way it is going unfortunately. A victims claim should not be unanimously accepted immediately, the public if they are to act in good faith should wait until further relevant information is available rather than coming to hasty conclusions and jeopardizing people’s reputations.Presume innocent until proven guilty is a core pillar of American due process. yep 100% this the nuance there is what so many ppl arent talking about - I just dont understand if moms are no longer talking to there daughters the same way my mom talked to me btw im 35 - I think they arent as we went sex positivity, where what you want it doesnt define you positivity all the things

I agree with her statement that women should be smarter about the situatior thev walk into. Mavbe she felt more pressure to let others join in activities that she wanted with one or two and that would be just as bad as forcing her to do things physically.
