@jk.ontalay: PEOPLE WHO SURVIVED THEIR OWN EXECUTION 😳 CHRISTА PIKE — 2026 On September 29, 2026, Tennessee attempted to execute Christa Pike by lethal injection. She was given two doses of pentobarbital — but she survived. Witnesses reported that she was still breathing afterwards, and she was eventually taken to hospital. The execution was declared a failure, and Tennessee’s governor subsequently halted executions in the state for the rest of 2026 while an investigation was launched. (AP News) ROMELL BROOM — 2009 Ohio attempted to execute Romell Broom by lethal injection. For more than two hours, execution staff repeatedly tried to establish an IV. They attempted access at 18 different sites before the execution was finally abandoned. Broom survived. He remained on death row until his death in prison from suspected COVID-19 complications in 2020. (Death Penalty Information Center) And there’s an even darker historical case… WILLIE FRANCIS — 1946 He survived an attempted execution by electric chair — only to be executed successfully the following year. Some people literally survived their own execution. History can be stranger than fiction. #D#DarkHistoryT#TrueHistoryH#HistoryTokL#LethalInjectionF#FailedExecution
