thats not a baby deer it's an adult muntjac and if in the uk you should put it down as they are incredibly invasive and are wrecking havoc on our woodland

It’s a muntjac deer. In the UK they are considered “an invasive species” and often are put down when injured as you aren’t allowed to release them 😭😭😭😭😭 I worked at a wildlife rehab centre and they would take them in and put in a sanctuary (but could not legally do wild release for the reason above)

As someone that works in wildlife rescue it fully depends on what the injuries were. It could’ve had spinal damage or damage to the pelvis that unfortunately cannot be fixed and putting them to sleep is the kindest thing to do.
