@madeformorewithgwen: This is the part of teacher burnout people don’t talk about enough. 🍎 Sometimes you don’t hate teaching. You still love the kids. You still love the moments when a student finally gets it. You still know you’re good at what you do. You’re just exhausted by what teaching has become. And that creates a kind of guilt that’s hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t lived it. Because how do you walk away from something you spent years becoming? How do you admit that something you still care about is also taking too much from you? And what do you do when you’re not ready—or financially able—to leave? That’s where I am. I’m not here because I have it all figured out. I’m here because I finally realized I don’t have to wait until I’m completely burned out to start wondering what else might be possible. So I’m taking the skills teaching gave me and slowly building another option. Not because I failed at teaching.
