@phoenixpathway: Public Rebounds Perform Recovery To Shield A Bruised Ego Moving into a highly visible new relationship immediately after a breakup often serves to repair status rather than reflect genuine emotional healing. Using a public display of effort with someone new helps soothe the ego after rejection by projecting desirability and success. True emotional recovery takes time and internal reflection, whereas rapid, performative moving on relies on external validation. Refuse to engage in a post breakup competition, allow his public display to function as ego repair while you focus on your own genuine healing. #relationshipadvice #datingtipsforwomen #feminineenergy #knowyourworth
When vulnerability isn’t handled with care, people learn to hide it, and that makes growth much harder. We have to be gentler and more caring with how we deliver feedback too.
Being gentle doesn’t mean being dishonest. Feedback can be completely truthful and still be delivered with care. The difference is usually in how it’s framed: focusing on a specific behaviour rather than the person’s character, choosing a private moment rather than a public one, and making it clear that the feedback comes from wanting things to go well rather than from wanting to win. Hearing ‘when you did this, I felt that’ is something a person can work with. Hearing ‘you always do this’ tends to make them defend themselves.
Research supports this. Amy Edmondson’s work on psychological safety found that people are more willing to admit mistakes and learn from them when they trust that honesty won’t be used against them. The same applies in relationships and friendships. If admitting a weakness has previously led to criticism or being mocked, the natural response is to stop admitting it.
It works both ways. If we want people to take our feedback well, we have to show that we can take theirs well too. When someone sees us receive criticism openly, without lashing out or shutting down, it becomes safer for them to be honest about themselves in return. Growth tends to happen in relationships where both people can say ‘I got that wrong’ without fearing what comes next

Yeah, I mean he’s not gonna stop love bombing cause that’s his routine. The new woman doesn’t know what they’re in for - is the reality.

He didn’t even let the divorce happen before he started talking to other women. While I’m so loyal I’m staying loyal to my marriage until it’s legally done even if I don’t want to be with him. I’m more focused on healing and rebuilding myself and my life 💪🏽

We separated in January (I left), filed in February and he was dating someone else by March. The divorce isn’t even finalized. Together 10 years. I’m still healing. I know I’m not ready for a new relationship yet.
