Chicago ALWAYS turns out for the marathon. It’s so cool to see ALL of the neighborhoods SCREAMING for the runners. Every mile marker is uniquely Chicago.

Qualifying for Boston in 2007 the year it got canceled halfway through because they ran out of water and it was too hot, is my flex.

I volunteered every year in HS at the Chicago marathon from putting the bags together that the runners would get their bibs, a shirt and their shoelace tag to actual the date of the marathon volunteering passing out water passing out banana Gatorade, I was stationed by Connie’s Pizza two years in a row then I gave out medals at the finish line junior and senior year it was a great experience! the emotion that everyone had and to see the accomplishment of the runners is beyond!!! [Heartwarming]
