I’M CANCER FREE. 😭🩷 After six LONG weeks of waiting, I officially got my Signatera results back, and they were NEGATIVE — meaning there was no circulating tumor DNA detected in my blood at the time of the test. Andrew was on shift when I found out, and as badly as I wanted to tell him, I waited until he got home this morning. I made a sign that said “I’M CANCER FREE” and waited for him to walk through the door. I genuinely did not think he was going to cry. 😭 And yes, I’m sorry honey, I filmed you crying and now I’m putting it on the internet. 😂 But THAT is love. After five months of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with a complete axillary lymph node dissection, and 15 rounds of radiation… being able to say the words “I’m cancer free” means more to me than I could ever put into words. I also want to say this with so much love: I know “cancer free” is complicated. I know there are people in this community living with metastatic cancer, people still in treatment, people waiting for answers, and people whose journey may never give them this particular moment. Celebrating this milestone in my own story is never meant to minimize anyone else’s experience or imply that there is only one way for a cancer story to look. This is simply a really, really big day in mine. For the first time since this nightmare began, I get to say it: I’M CANCER FREE. 😭😭😭 And I will never take those words for granted. 🎗️🩷 #breastcancer #cancertok #BreastCancerAwareness
