Everyone's been talking a lot about the NC scene, and I really liked it too. Besides that, there's another scene I love in episode 5, Peem hugging Thong. So I'm trying to write my thoughts. My English isn't very good, so please feel free to give me feedback. Thank you everyone. 🤗 I think what made me cry when I watched the scene where Peem held Thong wasn’t simply because I felt sorry for him. I saw something strangely familiar in Thong, a child who can be incredibly strong when he has to stand on his own, but when he’s with someone he trusts, he’s still just a child and he has every right to be vulnerable. In front of Peem, Thong always seems so small, yet so strong willed. He’s proactive, knows what he wants, and sometimes even protects Peem. Watching him, it feels like he’s already gotten used to taking care of himself. But when Peem bought him a toy and then held him from behind, letting him sit comfortably in his lap, Thong suddenly seemed so much smaller. At that moment, he didn’t have to do anything anymore. He didn’t have to be strong, didn’t have to protect anyone, and didn’t have to prove that he could handle everything on his own. He could simply sit in Peem’s arms and be held. I think that was the moment that made me think of my dad. Because I used to be a child like that too. I used to have my dad hold me, buy me toys, and there were times when all I had to do was run to him and he would take me into his arms. Back then, those things felt so ordinary. I never thought much about them. My dad was there, and I was his child. That was all. But now I’m grown up. There are things that have happened between my dad and me, and we no longer talk to each other the way we used to. There are distances that, the older I get, the more I realize aren’t always easy to cross. Sometimes, even something as simple as running up to my dad and hugging him takes a lot of courage. So maybe I wasn’t crying only because of Thong. I cried because seeing him being held suddenly reminded me of how it felt to be a child. To be with my dad. To be allowed to simply be a child, without having to be strong or pretend that I was okay. Maybe no matter how grown up I become, there will always be a little child inside me like that.
