@fit.mom.carlyn: Don’t let your kid be annoying. Our job is to help parent and teach our children when they are doing things that will annoy other others before they go out to school and it’s pointed out to them in a negative way. #christiantiktok #kids #parents #teacher #life

I am a firm believer in telling your kids when they're being weird or annoying.

I get crazy looks when I tell my 1.5 & 2.5 year old to wait and not interrupt me, I don’t let them crawl all over me and use me as a jungle gym, I hold them accountable!! It starts young!

Agree. My cousins 9 year old daughter was speaking with a baby voice the other day and my cousin immediately said “hey you’re not a baby speak properly” and she immediately stopped with the baby voice. It’s ok to correct your kids when they’re being deliberately annoying.

I don’t particularly care for Jordan Peterson, but I swear there is some advice that he gave that I hold near and dear. And I literally think about it every single day and it’s “make your kids, socially desirable by age 4 “ if you haven’t looked this up, I urge you too because it’s exactly what you’re saying and it’s so good and so important

As a recruiter, not being annoying is a huge factor in landing and keeping a good job. No one wants to work on a team with someone who hasn’t learned that skill. It’s not talked about enough in the adult world.

I tell my child to stop being annoying almost every day before school. I’ve sat at watched him prior to heading in and he’s touching people and chasing them and they’re very clearly annoyed. I love my son more than anything but it’s my responsibility to make sure he’s ready for the world.

How do you bring this up without crushing their spirit? It’s a fine line like you said and I don’t want to diminish my kids light. Great video and thank you

For real, man. We’re raising kids to live in a society. To be a kind, upstanding citizens, with good manners.

This is very true my daughter can be touchy and other kids don’t want to be touched and I tell her that she can make friends but she has to keep her hands to herself and she asks me how about my legs my feet and my head …. 😅

I agree 1000% ...esp with boys. I'm a mom to a girl and twin boys. I would have failed if they grow up to be men with delusions of adequacy.

The greatest thing my parents ever did for me was not let me be annoying. Whether that be repeated annoying noises, being annoying while speaking, etc. it’s so beneficial in adulthood

I’m not a parent but I’ve worked with kids long enough to know that when I have kids, I have to be very real with them and build them up to be a part of society

The kids in high school who wore cat ears and hissed at people in the halls needed this conversation bc there is a fine line between "letting them be themselves" and not being so weird and getting bullied. but idk

Omg I felt this to the core. My son turned 4 this week and he has started this thing where he won’t let anyone have a conversation around him (that he isn’t a part of). Like if my husband gets home from work and we are talking about how his day was.. my son will start yelling, making noises, etc so that we can’t talk to each other. Or he will tell us to stop talking bc we’re talking too loud (when we definitely aren’t) lol idk how to even approach this.. 🤣

my oldest got in trouble at school for doing something dumb and weird last week because he "was trying to be funny" and I told him it wasn't funny, it was weird and disturbing lmao. cause why are you getting in trouble for something that didn't even make anyone laugh 😂 😭

Yes it breaks my heart but I always tell her it’s better if she hears it from her loving mama than a rude girl at school

Absolutely. I counter this with having moments in private or semi private times home or in the car or whatever where we can let the freak flag flyyyyy because sometimes we just need to be weird or annoying or whatever. But time and a place for sure

I have a problem with cockiness with my daughter. I don’t want to kill her confidence but sometimes she can be annoying acting like she knows more than others about something she doesn’t. A lot of her classmates are the same but I don’t want people to be annoyed by her regularly doing this. I have checked it many times but she still does it.
